Here at Kentish Town C E School, we embrace all faiths and cultures and normally we celebrate Eid by holding a huge Eid Tea where parents cook and bring in delicious dishes for everyone to share. Unfortunately due to Covid restrictions we were unable to do this presently.

We decided that Eid was too important for our community and we decided to cook in school instead of asking our wonderful parents to do this. All classes had the opportunity to cook and taste some authentic Bengali food.

Some children from each class were chosen to help Jahanara cook the dishes. We then took the food back  and shared the food with the rest of the class.

Chestnut Class made Pakoras!

Oak Class made lamb kebabs with roti !

Beech Class enjoyed a potato curry with roti !

Willow Class cooked dhal and had roti with it !

Ash Class prepared minced lamb and potato curry with roti !

Sycamore Class got to taste dhal and roti !

Acorns tried chicken curry and roti !

Finally Cedar Class enjoyed their chick pea curry with roti !

Children really enjoyed cooking the various dishes and everyone got a chance to eat  them afterwards. Eid Mubarak.
