Cedar has had a special visitor all the way from 1903 for a morning of drama and learning!
As part of our school wide Lifting Limits project Cedar Class took part in a drama workshop to learn all about the Suffragette movement and the fight for equal rights.
We were shocked to find out how recently it was that women couldn’t vote and even more surprised to find the queen didn’t want women to be able to vote!
We made freeze frames of key moments in history – see if you can spot the crowning of Queen Victoria, the suffragette protests, and the celebration when women were allowed to vote!
We also learned a rally song and made a mini protest with opposing sides.
This really helped us to think about everyone’s right to share their opinion (Article 12) and their right to not be discriminated against (Article 2).
