We have two trips coming up in Oak Class – to RIBA and to the Woodberry Wetlands. We will be travelling by bus, crossing
busy roads and being near water at the wetlands. Can you think of some golden rules for staying safe when we are out on trips?

Stella says:
Bus
1. When sitting in the bus, it’s dangerous to run around.
2. Do not stand up without holding onto a back of a seat or a pole.
3. Don’t shout in the bus otherwise other people won’t like it.
4. Don’t talk to the driver while he or she is driving otherwise they might crash!
Crossing busy roads
1. Always look both ways when checking if a car is coming.
2. You should always stay on the pavement other a car might hit you if you go on the road.
3. Listen as well as look for cars and buses
4. Don’t cross unless an adult tells you to.
Water at Wetlands
1. If there is no gate don’t go near the water’s edge.
2. Don’t go into the water otherwise you might drown
3. Wear a life jack if you are near the water.
4. Look where you are going otherwise might fall in.

Don’t cross the road when it’s the red man.
When we go to the water don’t go in the bushes in case there’s thorns and don’t go near the water unless you’re allowed to in case you fall in.
When we’re in the street don’t go all over the place and hold your partner’s hand.
When we’re on the bus sit down if you can or else hold a pole.
Lisn too the gron up !
